Come and see the wonderful city of Taranto! It was founded as Greek colony in 706, established by the Spartans, and soon became one of the most powerful cities of the “Magna Grecia”. Characterised by three natural peninsulas, Taranto is known as the “City of Two Seas”; a unique place in Italy, where different cultures left many archaeological finds and buildings over the centuries. The tour offers you a real time travel: walking through the narrow streets of the old town you will admire San Cataldo’s Dome, the oldest Romanic church in Apulia, and the imposing Aragonese Castle. The tour includes the visit of hypogean environments, about two meters below the ground, where it is possible to find quarry cuts referring to the Greek era.
