Our hiking tour starts at Porta Postergola, situated in the Caveoso area - the ancient heart of the city. Following the path n. 406 that gradually descends to the bottom of the valley, you will enjoy a marvelous landscape around you while listening to a qualified guide, who will reveal all the secrets of this magic place. After arriving at the bottom of the ravine, you will face the main adventure: crossing the Tibetan bridge. Once on other side, you will enjoy a little break before resuming the curvy path towards the top of the highland of Murgia, from where you can enjoy the magnificent landscape of the Sassi that unfolds before your eyes. The Regional Park of Rock-hewn Churches has been declared Unesco World Heritage Site since 2007. It is a hilly open area, characterized by deep karstic slits called “Ravines”. At the end of the tour, you will take our bus shuttle to go back to the centre of Matera.
