Originally named “Bollita”, Nova Siri evokes with its actual name a millennial history, dating back to the Magna Grecia. Noteworthy is the Castle on the top of the town, belonged in 1546 to Diego Sandoval De Castro, who was romantically linked to the poetess Isabella Morra of Valsinni. The old town in characterised by narrow streets, churches and charming palaces, such as Settembrini Palace and the Main Church (16th century).
