Ettore Pomarici Santomasi Museum is a 17th century building with all the Baron’s original furniture. The 2nd floor hosts the Archeological exhibition “Aristocracy and Myth”, with all the most prestigious artefacts found during the excavations made especially in Botromagno. In the art gallery, there is a rich collection of paintings, all 263 coming from different schools. The “Madonna col bambino” (Virgin and Child) and the “Disputa di Gesù tra I Dottori” (Argument of Jesus and the doctors) stand out for having such expressive forms. Francesco Guarini from Solofra, maestro of the Neapolitan School, and Ludovico Carracci, maestro of the bolognaise school, painted the two 17th century masterpieces. Other precious artworks housed in this museum are the ovals representing the “Allegories of the four continents”, by Saverio Persico, and the collections of weapons, uniforms, numismatics, vintage clothes, folklore, carriages, majolicas and ceramics, together with the historical archive and the library.
