Pietrapertosa is a little town perched on the breath-taking slopes in the heart of “Dolomiti Lucane” mountains. It's located at 1088m above the sea level, thus making Pietrapertosa the highest town in Italy. It is embellished by the ruins of Norman fortifications located at the highest point of the city. At the base of the fortification of Pietrapertosa there's the ARABATA, a whole neighbourhood that testifies the presence of the Arab community who lived here for over 50 years. Recently, Pietrapertosa has become famous for the “Volo dell’Angelo” (Flight of the Angel), which allows you to literally fly in the air secured by a steel cable.
