Gravina in Puglia is an Apulian town, rich in history that is, in turn, reflected in its neighbourhoods. The story of the past should be told as it lives through the signs of civilization. Each civilization that has taken place here has spread its own culture and collected hope. The Ethnographic and Excavation Museum of Gravina in Puglia is located in the San Marco underground complex - the symbol of architecture and civilization, developed over the centuries. The majestic multi-level hypogeum, up to 25 m deep, was unearthed by a group of speleologists in the twists and turns beneath the historical centre and consists of such rock-hewn facilities as cave dwelling, cisterns, icehouses and cellars.
