Grasp at the opportunity to explore the winding alleys of the ancient Sassi neighbourhood, participating in our walking tour in the company of our licensed English-speaking guide who will bring the past of the multifaceted city of Matera to life. On our guided walk along the ancient streets, you will learn all about history, architecture, and various anthropological aspects of the oldest part of the city as well as visit a so-called 'rupestrian' church - a treasure chest of Italo-Greek monasticism with precious iconographic proof dated back to the X-XIII centuries - completely hewn into the rock.
