San Miniato is one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Tuscany. On this guided tour you will discover its history along with its monuments, following a historical path, brought to light by the the ‘Moti Carbonari’ association and the citizens of San Miniato. We will walk in a spectacular place, full of history, admiring a hidden side of San Miniato: in the shadow of the ancient city walls. After our walk we will visit the historic center of the city: the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and San Genesio with its beautiful adjoining Tower of Matilde, the Episcopal Palace and Palazzo dei Vicari Imperiali. Then we will stroll in the highest part of the city; we will climb the majestic Tower of Frederick II where you will enjoy an outstanding panoramic view of the whole valley! Once back in the historic center, we will continue our tour visiting the Church of the Santissimo Crocifisso and the Piazza della Repubblica with its famous Palazzo del Seminario Vescovile.
