The little town of Miglionico, which is located on a high hill between the Badano and Basento rivers, is a place rich in history. The imposing “Malconsiglio” Castle became famous for the conspiracy of the barons against the king Ferdinand of Aragon, and every year the citizens organise a historical re-enactment of that event. Noteworthy is also the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, which hosts inside beautiful artworks, such as the altarpiece (1499) by Cima da Conegliano. Miglionico is known also for its delicious dry figs stuffed with almonds, protagonists of a festival held in September.
