Founded by the Romans, Pisticci is a town rich in history, which boasts several charming palaces and old churches. The Abbey of St. Maria del Casale is a wonderful example of Romanic-Apulian architecture, while the Church of the Immaculate Conception, already famous in 16th century, is now considered “one of the hundred wonders of Italy”. Noteworthy are also the St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church and the ruins of the Castel, built during the Norman period.
